It was also announced on January 9th via the group’s Facebook page that a new album is also in the works. Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon released their collaboration Wu-Massacre in 2010, and the 2011 compilation album, Legendary Weapons, featured several Wu members and affiliates, but the new project will be the first official Wu-tang studio album since 2007′s 8 Diagrams.
Besides Coachella and the new LP, fans may also see a full Wu-Tang world tour this year. Wu producer Rza told Power 105′s The Breakfast Club last October, “I know that the 20th year anniversary is coming up, and some of the brothers have been talking about potentially going back in, maybe do a world tour. I see like one last hurrah to close the book.”
Other hip hop acts performing at Coachella 2013 include 2 Chainz, Danny Brown, Jurassic 5, Theophilus London, Aesop Rock, Earl Sweatshirt, and Raider Klan. Rock bands The Stone Roses, Blur, Phoenix, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are set to headline. The annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on April 12-14 and April 19-21.

In 2005 Mobb Deep signed to 50 Cent's G-Unit records despite the fact that 50 Cent dissed them on "Piggy Bank", many die-hard Mobb fans were critical of the move, although in late 2009, Mobb Deep were released from their contract. It was during this period that Prodigy became a regular on hood youtube video channels, out spokenly critical of many rappers, and created beef for the group. Prodigy was arrested on a Gun Charge and asserted that the "Hip-Hop Police" had offered a deal if he would set up 50 Cent, which he allegedly refused.
In the months leading up to his Prison term, he released some of his best music, putting him in a league with modern Political MC's like Immortal Technique, and while in Prison, he released Phone Time (Welcome To State Prison), and a 5 page letter accusing Jay-Z of being an Illuminati Puppet, and showed his support for Afrika Bambaataa and Incarcerated Religious Leader Dr. Malachi Z York.
During his Prison stretch, Prodigy wrote his now "Infamous" book My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy, where he discusses events in his life. While revealing his life story, he has been widely accused of "Dry Snitching" on many Queensbridge and Hip-Hop artists, and the release saw a slew of back and fourths between Prodigy and Queens Rappers and Crime figures. All of this may have proved fatal to the Mobb Deep relationship, as Havoc is noticeably not openly involved in the over hyped tit for tat media circus.
Recently the Hip-Hop Radio Shock Jocks have been having a feeding frenzy over rumours of a very personal Mobb split, much of which features in the videos below. We at The Kool Skool do not get joy over this situation, and will not add to it. Unfortunately, it seems that "the Rap Industry" is more focused on fuelling Rap Beefs and Gossip, than celebrating what this industry is actually about - Music. All there is to be said is that Mobb Deep are a legendary Group, and like Groups, they fall out, and all you can do is hope they can sort out their differences, or wish them luck on their respective solo careers, and celebrate almost 20 years of dope music.

The Hiero Imperium Records-backed release is titled in reference to the rapper’s 2001 album, He Think He Raw. It’s produced entirely by DJ Fresh and production crew The Whole Shabang.
The new LP will mark the California MC’s second release in two years, following his 2011 album, The Hierophant. In total, it will mark his seventh solo album in a career spanning more than a decade.
Information on guest features have yet to be released, but Casual has released a video for the record’s debut single, “Tears”.
Casual’s He Still Think He Raw is scheduled for release on May 22.
Never one to bite his tongue, Lowkey modelled himself as UK hip hop's number one dissident, taking scathing potshots at everyone from weapons developer BAE Systems to president Obama.

One of the memorable moments of the night was when Sick Jacken gave a shout out to his brother Big Duke and the crowd shouted back “DUKE-DUKE-DUKE”, DJ FM then cut into “Premonitions” from their first self-titled album, where Big Duke’s voice filled the entire auditorium with his legendary style “Para toda la gente. lo que va a pasar aqui. son recursos del nuevo mundo. todo se tiene que arreglar aqui. porque aqui nadie me manda…”
Cynic and Jacken followed that up with one of my favorite jams “Dead Lines” off The Street Platoon’s “Steel Storm” album and The Ollin Project Compilation.
The day also marked Sick Jacken’s birthday, but the surprise was on us. B-Real of Cypress Hill came out from backstage with a microphone in hand and started spitting…

“Have you been to the Battle Station?”
Entry to the fabled TriBeCa loft where the artist and musician Rammellzee lived and worked, all but secluding himself in a thicket of cosmic paintings, militarized plastic sculpture and Samurai-like handmade costumes, was like initiation into a secret society in which graffiti, hip-hop, linguistics and science fiction were being fused into a strange new category of art. But Rammellzee opened the doors to this world more and more rarely before he died in 2010 at 49, and even stars tended to be star-struck by an invitation.
“I took George Clinton and Bootsy Collins to the Battle Station for the first time, and they left feeling like they’d just had a close encounter,” said the bassist and music producer Bill Laswell, who met Rammellzee in the early 1980s and remained one of the few people who saw him regularly.
Soon after the Sept. 11 attacks the building on Laight Street that housed the Battle Station was sold to make way for luxury apartments, and Rammellzee and his wife, Carmela Zagari, were pushed out, relocated to a conventional, smaller place in Battery Park City. Almost 20 years’ worth of his obsessive artwork, enough to fill a large truck, went into a storage locker, where it remained unseen for years, in danger of being forgotten for good.
But pieces of it are now starting to re-emerge, in a way that Rammellzee most likely would have approved of: in fighter formation. A bunkerlike, black-lighted re-creation of the Battle Station was one of the most talked-about pieces in “Art in the Streets”, a sprawling graffiti survey last year at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, organized by the museum’s director, Jeffrey Deitch, who as a New York dealer had courted Rammellzee for years.
